*Can be played as a male version*
Setting: Modern/Medieval
Name: Laenith
Age: Has been asleep for millenniums, but physically she would seem in her late 20s, early 30s.
Species: Shapeshifting weapon. Was created more than 3000 years ago in the southern sands at the times of Pharaohs.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Profession: Fighter, helper, guardian, slave, etc.
Singing voice similar to: Lissie
Appearance
Though her shapeshifting ability allows her to change her physical form into other weapons, she only has one human form. Her real appearance is that only of a dagger, made of silver colored material that is practically unbreakable, that won't melt in lava and that is forever sharp. It was believed to be a mixture of the hardest and most exotic minerals discovered in that era, fused together with magic.
She is about 5'10 tall, has freckles all over her body, dark hair and brown eyes.
There is a ring embedded in the handle of the blade, silver, rustic. It can be removed and though it appears to be only 2cm wide, it actually adjusts magically to the finger it would slip onto.
Personality
Calm and composed, she analyses the world around her but doesn't always understand why humans function and act certain ways. Logical, practical, rational, she might appear like a mere soldier at first but her human emotions give her a bit of a playful side. Because she was created to protect humans against supernatural creatures, she tries at best to incapacitate a human opponent rather than kill them, but will not feel remorse if they die. She will feel angry towards her master if he orders her to kill humans as it is not her primary purpose.
Abilities & Weaknesses
Her human body, even if it does not appear to be composed of all that much muscle mass, is actually above the peak athletic condition a human body can reach. Agile, faster, stronger, however she doesn't have enhanced senses, but her reflexes allow her rapid calculation to react to her environment.
Shapeshifting her original form into a human form. Shapeshifting any parts of her body into a weapon of her choice and if it requires projectiles, they are spawned by her own energy. When she morphs, her skin turns silver and appears to be like liquid metal until it takes a solid shape. While she could change her arms into blades, she would most likely attract less attention if she simply formed the weapons as if they were separate from her. They can't leave her grasp as they are fused to her palms, an extension of her.
There is a magic ring embedded in the handle of her dagger form. If a human were to wear it, she would become physically bonded with her new master. He would then have the ability to change her weapon appearance to the form of almost any weapon he could imagine. At all times, they would be able to locate each other, sense each other's state of mind(if they are in pain, in distress, etc) and allow them to communicate telepathically no matter the distance between them. She can access her master's memories in order to learn things from him (like language or name for example), but the master cannot do the same with her own mind. She can't read her master's immediate thoughts unless he chooses to specifically communicate to her that way. Any orders her master would give, she would only be forced to obey if they fit her primary purpose as a weapon. Which means silly orders, she will most likely be able to resist. As a failsafe, she is unable to harm her master in any way or touch the ring if it is on his finger. If someone were to cut off the master's finger, she would be freed.
** Only humanoids can wear the ring, as it will loosen up and not hold on the finger of someone who is of a beast or monster nature.
When no one is wearing the ring, she can still connect to someone's mind if there is skin to skin physical contact. Someone not wearing the ring can still wield her and hold a telepathic communication just as long as she is within his grasp. Which also means she can read into people's memories if she touches them and even if she is bonded to someone wearing the ring, it does not prevent her from using these abilities with anyone.
Her ability to change her molecular components to imitate that of any minerals and other solid material allows her to cut through practically anything she encounters. The information is taken in from contact with the targeted material, at the split second of impact, allowing the change in her components to be done faster than the human eye.
This molecular shifting also means that she can change the surface of her skin to that of a desired material but she would have to keep the joints uncovered if she wants to retain mobility.
If her weapon is a blade, for example, even if it is not a projectile weapon, she can still produce a sharp and thin wave of molecular energy through the air in order to cut through something at a reasonably far distance, or if the element she wishes to cut through is relatively too large to bother forming a blade that long.
She was especially made to be the weakness of supernatural creatures, able to kill them instantly if piercing their brain or their heart, no matter how well they would normally heal. Cuts made by her sharp edges would most likely be hard to heal from and in some cases, the wounds would be affected by a poison like effect on its victim, slowly infecting and rotting the flesh from the source of injury.
In her blade form, she is either awake or in a meditating state, except when she is forced to returns to her original form in order to heal the injuries her human form obtained. While in human form however, she is afflicted by the same needs as most humans. Sleep, thirst, hunger, mostly. If she is dying, her human form will automatically revert to her original form. She can be killed if stabbed through the heart or beheaded. She will feel pain and pleasure, but can endure a lot more than what the average person is capable.
Background
Around 3000 years ago in Egypt, under the reign of Pharaoh Sneferu, Jarvit, an evil warlock, succeeded in opening a gate to a world of monsters. As an attempt to rule over the lands, he waged a war against humanity. Five of the most powerful mages of the continent would be gathered to created a weapon that could help the humans win that war. A soul was made for the blade, giving it sentience and the ability to shapeshift into any weapon imagined. However, as a better way to hide this powerful weapon so it doesn't fall into the wrong hands, it was allowed a human form.
During the war, she was wielded by one of Sneferu's daughter, the princess Hetepheres. It was the only person that ever made her feel like a person instead of a tool to be used. They grew close, became secret lovers, but the princess knew it wouldn't last.
After years of battle for survival and many casualties, the war was finally won. The sorcerers had closed the gates to the world of demons. Jarvit killed, they knew it was best to put away that powerful weapon and not have it be used in any upcoming human wars. They locked Laenith away in a secret treasury chamber in the depth of a tomb and rigged the labyrinth with traps to make it harder to reach it.
The mages put her under a sleeping curse that would only be broken if a humanoid slips the ring on their finger and cut themselves on the blade to offer a drop of their blood.
P.S. The historical references are only for a modern setting. If Medieval fantasy, Egypt and the Pharaoh would go under a different name for the sake of a fantasy world.
