Background
When she was born, her parents knew she had the blood power of their ancestors. It was found out when the doctor doing a blood test couldn't find any blood type fitting to their daughter. Since the doctor was a close friend of theirs, they had the chance to get him to write a fake blood type in the birth file. Ever since, she has been kept away from doctors and hospitals her entire life.
When growing up, she was told to keep secret the fact she could heal faster when injured, but thankfully for her parents she had not been badly hurt enough to ask more details, thinking that there was other people that could heal fast just like her.
In her early teen years, she found her parents constantly arguing and when overhearing their fights, her name came up quite often. The pressure she felt when they separated, she couldn't help but blame herself for their breakup. With her mother having a new lover, which she didn't like, and in this teenage phase of questioning, of social pressure, school bullying, love rejection, keeping her healing a secret and humiliating situations, she couldn't take any of it anymore.
She tried to kill herself, in various ways, a few times, but every attempt failed. It was only when she started to question that there might be more than simply healing faster, that something was wrong with her, that she dared to confront her father about it. He had no choice but to tell her everything they knew about their ancestors, these powers that were supposed to be gone and the dangers she will face which changed her ever since. She stopped being affected by anything trivial, knowing there will be far bigger things at stake when certain people and creatures would be looking for her.
Her mother broke their mother-daughter bond by focusing more on her relationship with her boyfriend and completely abandoned her daughter by moving oversea, not even calling her on holidays anymore. While her father was traveling often, she went to live with her grandmother, looking for more answers to her powers and origins of this family heritage. There was a journal passed on to the first born of each generations, along with a magical dagger specifically forged, blessed and spelled to be used against the various supernatural enemies she might encounter. Her father and grandmother taught her how to defend herself and to use her gifts at her advantage.
Her father being a hunter of supernatural creatures, she wouldn't see or hear from him for long periods of time, but their relationship stayed very close. He was still seeking anything he could on their ancestors, yet kept that a secret from his daughter not to worry her. He wanted her to try having a normal life, living her dreams and ambitions.
Now she's in college, learning languages to become a translator and hopefully travel the world. Learning as many languages as possible won't be that much of a problem as she seemed to be a fast learner of the different tongues of the world. Maybe someday she would get to find the secret ruins of her ancestors, mentioned in their journal, if she gets to travel to the amazon forests.
